just one thing… you say “favela” always in the singular… as if it was ONE favela… favela is a word for shantytown… and there are SEVERAL favelas in Rio. Maybe the particular favela you were thinking about was the Favela da Rocinha (Rocinha Shantytown) which is the largest one in Rio.
